Especially in the 'local for local' application or for own use, there are possibilities as an energy application. The challenge here is to form an optimal chain of a local acreage of Miscanthus, storage capacity and the right boiler and, of course, to link this to a heat demand. A short chain ensures that this application offers opportunities from both a sustainability and economic perspective.

Research by AEBIOM has already shown that Miscanthus has great potential as a biofuel due to its large biomass production and low moisture percentage at harvest!
